IUI experience n stuff...(1 Day Post IUI)

Hi ladies.
We had a very busy weekend, but it was nice to see our friends and have my bro/SIL/niece over. I visited dad today and dropped off a V-day card, I also brought coffe nd his favorite donut, he was happy. It was actually a VERY god visit, we talked and had mature converstion. I wish every visit went as nicely as todays did.

Here goes my IUI story...
We got to the office a little early I signed in and took a seat. the office filled with many other couples having an IUI the same day as we were. The Dr. was the one doing the proceedures which I was relieved about.
So the nurse came and called our names she took us to a little room decorated with pictures of native people, I'm guessing Mother and Father. There was of course a fertility statue (as there is in every room I've been in there), and a small piece of amethyst, there was no music this time though. So I got undressed and got up on my table. David and I waited only a few minutes and the Dr came in. The first thing I noticed was the light attached to his head, LOL. MAN did I have one liners going through my head... "Okay, I'm goin' in, if I'm not back in ten minutes send a search party!". Or "whistle while you work, doo do doo do do" LOL. I of course kept them to myself. Our Dr. is such a nice guy! We asked a couple questions, one was; how do you know if the Ovidrel worked? He said it works 99% of the time. I still wasn't to re-assured, but I do believe I ovulated... and it did work.
So he went ahead and we verified Dh's boyz n girlz (LOLOLOL), I told them to do their thing, swim little ones, swim!! lol. Before the proceedure the Dr gave us the option of going forward with injectables next time if this IUI fails, which I am very excited about! He said we have been trying for long enough and gave us the option of injectables, and I, of course, accepted! So that's the next step! YAY, we love our Dr! He then completed the IUI proceedure and continued on to the many other couples requiring IUI's that day.

My Personal experience, may include items not appropriate for some lol, reader discretion is advised!
Day of IUI... this time I had cramping afterwards. For the first time I was happy to have cramps LOL. At least SOMETHING happened this time hehe. The cramps were light-medium (left side) then it turned into almost a light burning cramp. Lots of movements in abdomin as well. My nipples were however getting very tender, and very heavy. Just after the cramping, (TMI FOR SOME, LOOK OUT!) I had some fluid and a little bit of mucus release which was different than before as well. I hope these are good signs, I guess we'll see. I was feeling rather swollen/bloated. My lower back was sore as well - but it was a busy day with my nieces bday party, setup and such. I have been short tempered but overall content. Tested to see if Ovidrel would be picked up on hpt, it came back very light positive.

1DPIUI... light cramping only once or twice. Felt pretty good little tummy ache, felt nauseated, (but my niece had been throwing up each night this weekend and my SIL did last night, so maybe I caught that bug lol). My Breasts are feeling more heavy and my nipples are really rather tender. I was impatiant off and on but overall okay. I did HPT to see if it would pick up the 250mg's of Ovidrel, test was light positive.

I think that's all. I do have a question though. who has been on injectales, and what are they? What's the proceedure?

I should go, work in the morning and I'm rather sleepy. I'll catch up with everyone tomorrow evening as I've run out of time. Take care!

TTYL
XOXO

wishing that you do not have to know what injectibles are!!

I have been on injectibles - I did bravelle - it is just a stronger form for drugs to basically control the follie grows and get your hormone lvls to be balanced like they need to be to get pregnant - that is a simpled, watered down version.

Injectibles are shots (yes with needles) - thus you inject the meds (there are several different brands(follistim, menapur, bravelle, gonal-f, repronex etc.) You (or hubby) will inject them nightly at the same time for about 7-11 days and be blodd monitored and U/s'd to watch the progress of the follies grow - then do the ovidrel (or a differnt brand of hcg trigger) to release the eggs (just like before) then iui 24-48 hours later ...so it's really the same process - just a stronger dose in hopes to make more follies for a more chance
