wow! Maera and the SOFT clinic.

Hi ladies!
Maera is doing well, she's learning that she has hands and fingers, it's so cool watching her look at her hands with such amazement. She goes cross eyed when she moves them closer to her face, it's a hoot! She's starting to play with her toys on her bouncy chair and plays with rattles and stuff now. It's so exciting!
Todat David and I went to the SOFT clinic, which is where we went to meet Dr. Martin who helped us (got us), pregnant with Maera. We got to introduce her to the doctor and the technitions and nurses at the clinic. I cried out of pure joy. The waiting room was full of couples waiting to see Dr. Martin. I felt a little weird going in there with a baby as I know what its like to even see a baby in an office for fertility patients; but overall it was awesome. I walked in and it was like I hit a wall of emotions, remembering what it was like going through all the blood work and monitoring and waiting. Then the tech & nurse came out and they held Maera, I cried and hugged them. When David was taking her out of her snow suit in the middle of the room he simply said to the people watching him, this is what happens after 6 long years of trying. It does happen, miracles do happen. It was so nice to bring a little hope to people. Dr Martin came out (my hero), we introduced him to Maera and we hugged him. I asked what we do when we want to have another, he simply said "I'll give you as many as you want, you can keep coming back!!" He smiled and we thanked him again. I turned around and made my apointment for June 1st.. I'M SO EXCITED!! So we get to start trying again in June! YAAAAY! :):):):) Can ya tell I'm all excited?!
I feel like screaming to the world about the SOFT clinic and how nice they are and how good they are at what they do. A couple in the waiting room congradulated us, and we wished them the best of luck. I said Dr. Martin will make it happen for you, keep your chin up, its worth the wait, He's my hero... Best of luck... I wish I could have told everyone that IT CAN HAPPEN!! You can get pregnant, and have a beautiful baby after all the trials of TTC. No matter how down you get IT DOES HAPPEN!
I am so blessed...

Happy New Year and all that jazz! I trust everyone's holidays were great! I
'I'm sure I don't have long as the baby has already started crying hehe, I think she has censors for when I open up the computer!
We're all doing well. David got his lay off notice for work, so we're both on employment benefits right now... which really sux! He's looking for another job though. Baby is just going through her first cold, yesterday was bad, today she seems to be doing much better. The xray was disturbing. They sat her on a bike seat in a hole on a wooden table, asked me to hold her legs straight while they pulled her arms straight up and clamped a plastic bottle around her so she couldn't move. It was like they stuffed her in a 2LT pop bottle, it was so disturbing, poor thing. She's doing much better today though.
We're still working on the new place and should be moving in sometime in april/may.
I should head out for now, take care and I'll do my best to visit your blogs to check them out. Take care ladies!

Hi Ladies! Got another chance to pop online so I wanted to update real quick.
Things have been going well, every now and again I may get 4 hours sleep in a row. She's eating well and gaining weight, she's becoming more solid. The hardest thing so far has been the late nights and lack of sleep. The best has been everything else, especially when she smiles for me. I'm oober excited about having our first Christmas with a baby. The family is coming here for dinner like normal, turkey potato's and gravy mmmmm.
Maera's got a checkup apointment tomorrow at the midwives. I'm going to take the camera so we can get a shot of her and our midwife for her photo album.
I ended up losing 32 pounds throughout the pregnancy, and I'm down 2 pant sizes, man I feel good about that! The GD diet did me some good, so I'm trying my best to stick with it, although its not so easy with my friends buying me huge 1kg chocolate bars for my birthday lol.
We're going to try for a second baby naturally for a year and if we're not successful we'll go back to the clinic to have another IUI. It would be fabulous if we did it naturally for a change.
Well I wanna take some time to update myself on your blogs so off I go for now. Take care ladies!!

Sorry its been so long between posts, it's hard to get time to pop on. Maera is sleeping right now so I wanted to take advantage to write a little about my labour experience... so here it goes...

7:15am on Oct 29th my water broke and I lost my entire plug. I ran to the tub as it was running down my leg. Noone told me that when you lose you water that sometimes it can go all day because the babies head moves in and out of the way... and I was losing my water all day. I had to use puppy pee pads to help soak the water up so I could walk around the house. lol I had mild contractions for the first part of the morning, they were varying from 8-10 minutes apart. The midwife came and examined me and said she'd come back and check later in the day. Well my contractions stopped at around 5:30pm, she came back at aroun 9 pm. She then gave us the option of going to the hospital that night or first thing in the morning the next day, we opted to go right away as I wanted to make sure the baby was safe as my water had broken way earlier that day and they say there's a 24 hour window after that happens.
So we got to the hospital and they started the oxytocin, my contractions started becoming more freaquent and intense as time went on. I was only 2-3 cm dilated at around 3am. I was so bummed. More time passed and they checked again and I was 5-6cm. After 27 hours the midwife said I should take an epidural because I had been up for that many hours and it would help relax my body. Baby was facing sideways as well so that's another reason it was taking so long. I agreed to the epidural, but while we were waiting I had to have a bm, the nurse freaked because she didn't want me to give birth in the toilet, the midwife said let her go, so I did. (the nurses at in labour and delivery were annoying with the heart monitor and attitudes, its like they don't think women know anything.) I had a bm, went back to bed... then I had to toss my cookies, and I did. Well after that and waiting for almost 2 hours for the anesthesiologist, during which time the contractions became VERY intense and close together. Then I started to feel the ned to push... the anesthesiologist
finally came in and started the epidural, and as I sat there I had to push the baby , she was coming NOW. (What an intense feeling, the need to push.) The midwife kept telling me to breath through it, lol I was still pushing, I couldn't help it. So they finally finished giving me the epidural, got me back into the bed and I was actually giving birth. The baby was crowning, I was 8-9 when they started the epidural, the checked and I was 10, but not fully effaced so they completed that and literally within 3 contractions I had pushed her out. The midwife doesn't consider I used any medications because the baby was here befor the epidural even had a chance to kick in.
lol, I remember the anesthesiologist asking me, how's the pain... can you still feel it? YES I can! I'm giving birth you idiot LOL. Its all good though, cause I wanted to feel the pain.. and it was worth it! I have never felt such a good severe pain in my life!
I only had 1 stitch, she was born safe and sound at 11:57 am on oct 30th.
My life now adays is so full of love for her, she is truly a blessing and I can't imagine life without her now.
She rolled over for the first time at 11 days old from tummy to back, I have it on video(ppl say we're in trouble if she's rolling over that quick hehe). I LOVE breast feeding, I wouldn't have it any other way. Thankfully the PCOS hasn't inhibited my ability to produce milk as there was some fear there may have been issues. My time breastfeeding her is MY time with her, its such an intimate bonding experience.
I love my life, and I can't express how much I love my daughter...
